I would agree, any videogame can take you only so far, or sometimes even be counter productive for the stick and rudder flying (as the stick in a plane generally as a different lenght and therefore movement /feel in a real glider. That isn't to say that Condor is bad as sims go, just that I'd be a bit worried as one of your pupils if you told me that was how you practiced flying. There were some twinges of recognition - I quite liked the thermalling - but overall I felt I was playing a video game. My gliding days are long in the past, but I didn't feel much of a connect, I have to say. The only thing I've really flown is an ASK13, so Condor seemed appropriate. I bought Condor not long ago because we always have debates about how realistic FMs are in sims, and I wanted to join in. Interesting…I'm not sure how useful a PC game would be for practicing.
